Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a store?

The Sugar Daze Bake Shop is located at 20 rue Henry Monnier, 75009 (closest metros are Pigalle & St-Georges). Light lunch fare, cupcakes — sweet and savory, american-style baked goods, freshly-made juices and other hot and cold beverages are available for eat-in or take-out. Check out the Contact Us page for additional information including a map of our location and operating hours. Follow our facebook page for daily specials and other news.

Do I need to reserve my cupcakes in advance?

If you would like to personalize your order or plan on purchasing more than 18 cupcakes in one shot, we recommend you contact us several days in advance to place a pre-order.  Mini cupcakes, giant cupcakes and whole layer cakes are only available via pre-order. At this time, we are only able to accept pre-orders of regular-sized cupcakes in batches of 6 of the same flavor; mini cupcake orders contain a sampling of our best-selling flavors (please alert us to any allergies or flavors you just plain don’t like). We kindly request payment in advance for pre-orders and in case of cancellation, you must notify us in writing at least 48 hours in advance.

Can my order by customized?

Absolutely! Each batch of cupcakes I create is different from the last. You can find plenty of inspiration by looking at some of my past orders on our Custom Orders page or our flickr account. If you have a special theme, color or decoration in mind, just tell me and I’ll come up with the perfect match for your event. Of course if your needs aren’t so specific, that’s fine too – you’ll always receive a gorgeous selection of cupcakes made just for you.

Help, I need cupcakes on a Monday and your shop is not open.

Although the Bake Shop is normally closed on Mondays, we do frequently take special orders on this day if you just gotta get your Sugar Daze fix! Minimum order quantities may apply; please get in touch by phone or email to determine if we can fulfill your order.

Can I hire you for a special event?

Sure! Sugar Daze makes any event even more special. I can either bake for you and provide just the cupcakes (I do this frequently for private sales, press meetings and corporate functions) or lead you and a group in a cupcake baking and decorating class (which I do often for bachelorette parties and birthdays). Contact me to discuss the details of your event.

I’d like to serve Sugar Daze desserts at my wedding.

Congratulations! I adore wedding orders. Cupcake towers are catching on in France for special occasions and they make a beautiful presentation on a dessert table. To arrange for a tasting where we’ll discuss your needs for the big day, send me an email. Note, while we will do our best too accommodate last minute orders, most weddings are booked well in advance.  We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm your specified date; the balance is due 8 days before the event.  Please see our CGV for more; translation available upon request.

How long can I keep my cupcakes for?

I pride myself on baking your cupcakes the day of your order. It’s what makes them taste so dang good. Your cupcakes can be kept for 72 hours once they have been baked (all cupcakes are preservative-free) but are best eaten fresh. Don’t store them in the fridge; they stay moistest when kept in a Tupperware-type box in a cool place.

How many cakes or cupcakes will I need for my party?

Obviously some people have bigger appetites than others, especially when it comes to indulgent Sugar Daze desserts. As a rule of thumb, I suggest:
1-2 regular-size cupcakes per person; 3-4 mini cupcakes per person.
Cakes: a giant cupcake serves about 15, a 6-inch cake about 10, and an 8-inch cake about 18. Larger cakes are available; email me to discuss your event needs.

Do you deliver?

Yes! We can deliver within the Ile de France region, starting at just 1 cupcake, for an additional fee. In general we can deliver to your home or office in under 4 hours Monday-Friday; Saturday deliveries are possible but need to be booked before end of day Friday.  Our delivery service does not operate on Sundays. Please contact us to determine the delivery fee.

I don’t live in Paris but I would like to order.

I like La Poste ‘cause they deliver all sorts of baking supplies and other goodies I need, but unfortunately they’re not too well equipped for shipping fragile cupcakes. Sorry, at this time, I don’t ship.

Do you have cupcake stands?

Sugar Daze has a range of cupcake stands available for rent for your party. I can deliver and set up your cupcakes at your event or just rent you a stand when you pick up your order. Please get in touch to discuss these options.

Hey, aren’t you Little Miss Cupcake?

Yes, Sugar Daze was founded in 2008 as Little Miss Cupcake but unfortunately, I was too busy baking and satisfying cupcake-starved customers to trademark the name. Then a store opened with a strikingly similar name and customers got confused. The competitor’s cupcakes were nothing like mine and people wrote *me* to complain thinking they had tasted my cupcakes. To end the confusion and protect my reputation, I changed names in September 2010. I like Sugar Daze – it’s more unique, ownable and well, I do love sugar!

What’s your favorite cupcake flavor?

Do I really have to pick just one? I seriously LOVE cupcakes. There are a few cupcakes on my menu that I have a certain weakness for – Dancing Queen, I Love You Honey Bunny and Cookie Monster, but if I was stranded on a desert isle and had to pick just one, it would have to be my Kiss Kiss Bang Bang red velvets. I love the tang from the buttermilk and vinegar, the light chocolate taste, the vibrant red color and the thick perfectly sweet vanilla bean cream cheese frosting!

Can I suggest a flavor?

Definitely! I love hearing from fans and getting customer feedback. Email me with any ideas, suggestions or questions and I’ll try to get in touch as soon as I can take a cupcake break.

Your cupcakes have such, um original names. Where do you come up with them?

I grew up on 80’s big hair bands and 90’s grunge and rap. I listen to A LOT of music while I am creating my cupcakes and am often inspired by the songs. Plus, everyone knows singing to a cupcake while it bakes makes it taste better. Currently the cupcakes and I have been listening to a lot of 30 Seconds to Mars, the Chili Peppers and Guns ‘n’ Roses.

I want to start a cupcake business. Can I come train with you?

As much as I could use the help, Sugar Daze is a small family-run business. I am not currently looking to bring in any part-time or full-time help (interns included) though I thank you for your interest.
